It was a fitting end to one of the greatest football careers in the State of Iowa’s history from high school to college.
Pella Christian Graduate Levi Jungling finished his time on the field Dordt as this week’s Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Jungling accounted for three touchdowns with one via reception, one via rush and one via pass. In all he caught five passes for 102 yards. It was the fifth time this season he had 100 yards or more receiving in a game in the Dordt Defenders’ finale.
Levi finished his five-year collegiate career with 271 catches and was a four-time First Team All-GPAC honoree.
This marks the end of a career that included a state record and multiple All-State selections on Eagle Lane. Jungling holds the record for most receiving yards in Iowa High School History in both a career (3,818) and single season (1,602 in 2015), and second all time in receiving touchdowns (46).
