A Pella Christian High School graduate and NJCAA qualifier will continue his collegiate throwing career at the Division I level.

Blake Veenstra will be an Iowa State Cyclone next fall following his second season with the Hawkeye Community College Redtails.

Veenstra was a 2021 NJCAA All-American last spring in the discus and a qualifier in the hammer throw and shot put, and has loftier goals in 2022.

While at Pella Christian, Blake qualified and was a top 8 finisher in Class 2A at the state meet in both the shot put and discus as a junior before his senior season was cancelled in 2020.
