The Indianola Police Department released a video regarding the dangers of texting and driving. The video features various city departments attempting to perform their jobs while texting, and showing the difficulties in performing a job while distracted.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Drivers who use hand-held devices while driving are 4 times as likely to get into crashes serious enough to injure themselves or others, sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for 5 seconds, and at 55 mph, that is like driving the length of an entire football field with your eyes closed
