The Norwalk boy basketball team begins its season in just over a week, and Warrior fans will see some new faces on the court. After graduating 11 seniors last year, the program is left with just four players who went through a whole season of varsity. First-year Head Coach Aaron Pelzer says the first week of practice has been spent getting his team up to speed.
“The group that left played a ton of our minutes last year. They played in some huge games throughout their careers, and were really successful. They were one of the largest senior classes we’ve lost in a really long time. So in terms of sheer numbers and guys that were at our varsity practices last year, we’re starting from scratch in that regard.”
Among the notable returners is sophomore Redek Born, who appeared in all 23 games last season with 7.2 points per game. Norwalk starts its season November 30th at home against Ballard.
