An accident on Highway 14 on the mile-long bridge caused the road to be closed for approximately two and a half hours Saturday evening. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS news that it stemmed from a chase that began in Jasper County. The pursuit ended when three vehicles were involved in a crash on the bridge, but only minor injuries were reported. He also says that the suspect is in custody.

The Iowa State Patrol is conducting the investigation. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and possibly other agencies assisted on the scene.
