In the early season for area basketball squads, it is tougher to scout teams than it is later on. Many teams at this point have only played a game or none at all, so coaches are needed to go back to last year’s notes to figure out what their opponent is all about. Knoxville Girls Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the last few seasons many teams, including Knoxville have put their games on YouTube so it is easier to watch a team online.
Ritchhart: “Right now scouting is difficult actually but we saw PCM in the Pleasantville fall league and we knew Addi Steenhoek was going to be a key for them. The positive thing about COVID is nearly everyone has their game on YouTube so you can watch those teams. We’ll probably do some self scouting then start to look at what Van Meter does on Tuesday.
Knoxville will travel to Van Meter on Thursday for their second game of the season.
