Through the first two games of the season, Pleasantville’s girls’ basketball squad are operating without their starting point guard, Rachel Harvey.
Starting in place of Harvey for the Trojans is Senior Rayne Olson, who saw limited playing time last season. Harvey in 2020-21 averaged just over 6.5 points per game, but was Pleasantville’s three-point shooter, knocking down 33% of her three-pointers in 21 starts. Olson is one of currently two new starters for the Trojans, the other being Azell Smith. Smith and Olson join the returning starters of Adi Adreon, Riley Thill, and Malorie McKinney.
Pleasantville currently sits at 1-1 on the season with a victory over Saydel and a loss to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. The next time they take the court is Tuesday as part of a girls/boys doubleheader with Marion County foe Melcher-Dallas.
