Thanksgiving was celebrated last week, and many in Marion County were able to enjoy a nice meal because of the help from local food shelves. Pleasantville Food Pantry Director Robin Zovodsky tells KNIA/KRLS News that preparations for Christmas are already underway. She says those who are able to donate should consider their role in the community as a whole.
“We’re part of a community, and that’s what we do, we help each other. Being part of a larger group is what makes us a community. If you’ve even been hungry or had to decide whether to get your medication or food, you know what it’s like. A lot of people who donate tell me ‘I’ve been there before, I know what it’s like.’ That inspires them to pass it on.”
Zovodsky was featured during the KNIA/KRLS Food Drive Radiothon, and highlighted the efforts of the Pleasantville Food Pantry. Donations can be made at the pantry or at City Hall.
