Small Business Saturday took place over the weekend, and the holiday shopping season is underway. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Director Emma Skahill says to support the efforts of local businesses by shopping locally.

“Our businesses have been working hard with one another to have offers and fun events going on throughout the holiday season. On Thursday evenings, most of our downtown businesses are open late, so make sure to visit them for their holiday specials. Remember when you shop local, you’re supporting local businesses and your friends and neighbors, you’re supporting your community overall. Try to keep your dollars as local as possible, because there are so many great businesses here that we’d love to see thrive.”

Skahill also reminds those that picked up snowballs at Living Windows that those deals are valid through Christmas Eve at local retailers.
