Area food shelves are getting ready to serve those in need during the Christmas season, but they thrive on donations to remain in operation. Pleasantville Food Pantry Director Robin Zovodsky tells KNIA/KRLS News that those who are able to donate should consider their role in the community as a whole.
“We’re part of a community, and that’s what we do, we help each other. Being part of a larger group is what makes us a community. If you’ve even been hungry or had to decide whether to get your medication or food, you know what it’s like. A lot of people who donate tell me ‘I’ve been there before, I know what it’s like.’ That inspires them to pass it on.”
Zovodsky was featured during last month’s KNIA/KRLS Food Drive Radiothon, and highlighted the efforts of the Pleasantville Food Pantry. Donations can be made at the pantry or at City Hall. Click the Big Red Button on KNIAKRLS.com to donate to the Big Red Radio Food Drive.
