After four straight at home, the Norwalk basketball teams will play their first road doubleheader of the season tonight, traveling to Council Bluffs to take on Lewis Central.
The Warrior girls will look to get back on track, entering on a two-game skid. At 2-3, the task doesn’t get any easier, as the Titans are on a roll. After losing their first two games, Lewis Central has rattled off four straight victories to earn themselves the #15 ranking in Class 4A. The Titans have won all four meetings in the VarsityBound era, including a 46-44 win in Norwalk last year.
The boys game will feature a pair of teams entering on win streaks. Norwalk has found their stride after a 2-0 week last week, including an upset win over Pella. Head Coach Aaron Pelzer says his team will need to be physical in its first road game.
On the other side, the Titans have won three straight after a season-opening loss. In fact, each win was by double digits. The Warriors have won three straight in the series.
Tonight’s doubleheader will air on 94.3 KNIA with Jon Mohwinkle and Dawson Livingston on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 4:45, with the opening tipoff from Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs at 5:00.
