Area students have been working to serve their communities during the first semester of classes.

During a November field trip to Des Moines, Jefferson Intermediate School students packaged 44,000 meals for Meals from the Heartland. This year, Jefferson students also donated 462 items for their annual Thanksgiving Day food shelf drive.
