Five days ago, the Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads played Seymour. In a quirk of scheduling, the Saints and Warriors reunite this time at Southeast Warren for the Saints turn to host. The girls got their first win of the season back on Thursday 34-30. In that game, point guard Addi Wadle returned from injury and Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports Wadle adds a different dynamic to the team that she hopes will make it harder to guard everyone else.
Goff: “It just changes when people press us. I just tell them to get out of there and she may need help getting the ball over but it makes it harder for opponents to guard because she can dribble through that pressure.”
Wadle’s injury dates back to the fall cross country season, where her year got cut short. For the boys, the Saints and Coach John Suntken hope some of the calls go their way this time around. The girls game is set for 6:30.
