Construction on the Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project will take a brief pause over the Christmas holiday, with Phase 1 coming to a close. Buxton St. from Ashland Ave. to Salem Ave. is expected to be open by December 31st, while Salem Ave. from Buxton St. to Howard St. is expected to be open to traffic by January 7th. Because of shipping delays, IMU has ordered some temporary galvanized streetlights that will be replaced once the permanent streetlights are delivered, which is currently scheduled to happen in the spring.
