With a host of City of Indianola projects set for 2021, including Iowa Ave and the Downtown Square Reconstruction Project, one of the things that stands out for Interim City Manager Charlie Dissell is the complicated construction of the Water Resource Recovery Facility. Dissell said the project is at about 65% completion, and credit goes to the work of city staff to keep everything on schedule.

“We started construction on that at the height of the pandemic and kept working through everything and made progress on the project. We are looking to have that facility go live in 2022, but 2021 was a big year for the construction on that, we got through that pretty well.”

Dissell said the facility is a state-of-the-art building that complies with all the Iowa DNR standards.
