The first round of projects related to the November bond issue passed in the Pella Community School District are underway, after the Pella School Board approved bids at their meeting this week.

Pella Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the district received good news after approving $4.3 million worth of three contracts for heating and cooling upgrades to Pella High School, turf replacement at the football stadium, and new bleachers in the main high school gym. Ebeling says the total cost is well below projections, and expectations are positive in regards to the timeline, as all three projects should be completed by the beginning of the new school year this August.
