1A #15 Grandview Christian scored the first 18 points of the game and coasted to a 97-37 boys basketball victory over Knoxville on Tuesday night as heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Thunder was up by 43 points at halftime and the running clock immediately started in the 2nd half. The Panthers seemed to play a little better in the 2nd half but Coach Troy Pearson told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team’s inability to close out on perimeter shots hurt them the most.

Pearson: “We had trouble guarding them at the 3 point line. We talked about giving them a step, and when you give them a step they are wide open. It’s nothing new for us, we’ll work on it.”

Knoxville dropped to 2-9 on the season. The Panthers get back into South Central Conference play Friday night with a road trip to Davis County.
