Pleasantville’s wrestling squad goes 2-1 in their quadrangular at Davis County, while the basketball squads will have a West Central Conference doubleheader tonight at Des Moines Christian.
The Trojans’ wrestling squad’s night began with a loss to Albia, 51-23. However, Pleasantville bounced back and beat Davis County, 54-30. The Trojans in their dual with the Mustangs managed to get five victories by fall and four wins by forfeit. Pleasantville then ended the night with a 46-29 victory over Central Decatur despite getting one victory by fall. Six of Pleasantville’s individual wins came by forfeit. With the 2-1 quadrangular, Pleasantville improves the dual record to 13-5 on the season.
The Trojans will take the weekend off and be back Tuesday for a triangular at home with Colfax-Mingo and Southeast Warren.
The Trojans’ basketball squads will look to shake off their tough loss to Van Meter Tuesday. Pleasantville’s girls will go toe-to-toe with a Lions team that they have yet to beat in the Varsity Bound era. The Trojans lost their first matchup of the season to the Lions back on December 17th, 40-27. With a victory, Pleasantville’s girls will have double-digit wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in a decade. The Trojans’ boys will look to match their win total from last season. Pleasantville’s Mason Scheve is three points away from becoming the ninth player in Trojan history to eclipse 1,000 career points.
The doubleheader at Des Moines Christian gets underway at 6:15 PM.
