Registration for the 2022 Knoxville Little League season is coming to a close this weekend. Organizers will be hosting a skills assessment/try out on Saturday, February 12th 9-11 am. Knoxville Little League President Rachael Garner tells KNIA/KRLS News what the kids will get out of playing little league.

“So of course they learn to play either baseball or softball, but it’s so much more than that. I think it really teaches them teamwork and how important teamwork is and just being able to just make those friendships that maybe otherwise wouldn’t have been made. They really bond over the sport and spend time together, and so it’s so cool to see all the friendships that come out of sports that a lot of times are lifelong friendships.”
