The Pella Christian basketball teams will travel to Dallas Center-Grimes for a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader, with the boys game having major implications on the conference standings.

The number six in Class 2A Eagles boys team takes on the number one team in Class 4A Dallas Center-Grimes with a chance to force a tie at the top of the Little Hawkeye Conference with the Mustangs. With just two conference games left in the season, an Eagles win allows them to control where they finish in the conference. Pella Christian fell in their first matchup with DCG to open 2022, 62-40, but trailed by just 3 points going into the fourth quarter. Eagles Head Coach J.D. Boer says his team has to remain focused on the task at hand.

“It’s just staying focused on what’s in front of us. Taking this one game at a time, and I know that’s coach-speak, but it is the reality that we talk about. We’re not going to get too excited, too high, too low, we’re going to focus on what’s in front of us and that’s a really good Dallas Center-Grimes team.”

In the girls game, Pella Christian will look to pull off the upset to end their 13-game losing streak against the number two in Class 4A Mustangs. Dallas Center-Grimes defeated the Eagles back on January 4th, 56-13.
