A Melcher man faces felony charges for allegedly possessing meth and marijuana in Knoxville. According to court documents, James Orville Morris Jr, 32, was stopped by a Knoxville police officer on Pleasant Street for having no front license plate and the rear license plate being unreadable. Morris informed the officer he did not have a valid driver’s license. Court documents say the officer observed a glass pipe and baggie containing marijuana in the cup holder of the car. Upon further search of the car, the officer found a backpack containing methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and more marijuana. Morris faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. He plead guilty to a serious misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in 2013.
