Turnovers made a close game in the first quarter a blowout very quickly as the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad was turned back by Iowa Valley 75-41 on Friday night. The Sabers and Tigers were tied at nine with just over a minute remaining in the first quarter when Iowa Valley went on an 11-0 run to blow the game open. Sabers Coach Brad McWilliams tells KNIA/KRLS Sports when his team started turning the ball over, it was tough to get back in it.
McWilliams: “Just way too many turnovers that’s the bottom line. We lost our minds and got going bad and it kept snowballing and that pretty much was the way it went.”
Devin Arkema scored 15 of his team high 21 points in the second half. Twin Cedars is 6-13 on the season and will close out the regular season Monday at home against Sigourney.
