At the Class 1A Sectional in Interstate-35, Pleasantville and Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas placed in the top five in team sectional play.
The Trojans placed second in the sectional with 185 points, placing just behind the sectional champion, Interstate-35. Three wrestlers for Pleasantville won their weight class. Caleb Cook at 126 lbs won his first-place match over Colton Halterman of Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas. Dillon Ammons at 160 lbs came out on top in his first-place match over Isaiah Smith of Interstate-35. Trevor Daggett at 195 lbs won his weight class over Trey Fisher of Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas. Kitt Lundy at 132 lbs placed second behind Elliott Cooney of Nodaway Valley. Jacob Hiemstra at 152 lbs placed second behind Ryan Stiles of Earlham.
Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas finished fifth with 112 points, placing just one point behind fourth-place Martensdale-St. Mary’s. Cael Caikowski at 113 lbs placed second behind Eli Harris of Nodaway Valley. Anthony Schneider at 145 lbs placed fifth in his weight class behind Pleasantville’s Trevor Nickel. Cole Metz at 160 lbs placed fourth behind Martensdale-St. Mary’s Sampson Henson.
Cook, Ammons, Daggett, Hiemstra, and Lundy will represent Pleasantville in district play. Cael Caikowski will represent Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas. District play will be at Pleasantville Saturday.
