Pleasantville’s boys’ basketball squad ended the season on a sour note as the Trojans lost at non-conference foe Saydel, 61-58.
The Trojans lost a back-and-forth game with the Eagles that caused them to end up on the wrong side of the result. Mason Scheve led the way in scoring for Pleasantville, knocking in 28 points to break his cold spell. Dayson Leerhoff had another double-double for Pleasantville, scoring 15 points and hauling down 12 rebounds. Andrew Pender stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, six assists, and seven steals. Pleasantville finishes the regular season with a 12-9 record and a 9-6 record in West Central Conference play.
The Trojans will have a full week to prepare for their first playoff game next Thursday. Pleasantville will play the winner of PCM-Chariton at Des Moines Christian.
