The Simpson Storm men’s and women’s indoor track and field competition season continued Saturday, with a 30-year-old school record being broken in the process at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic. Storm runner Spencer Moon broke the 5000-meter school record with a time of 14:22.41 to place fourth overall, breaking a record set by Danny Bauer in 1985. Ryan Courtney placed 12th in the 3000-meter as the other top finisher for the Storm men.
Aryss Forbes paced the Storm women as they competed in the Darren Young Invitational at Grinnell College on Saturday, with Forbes coming in fourth in the 400-meter dash, and Cat Lucht ran the fifth-fastest time in the 3000-meters.
Both Storm squads compete this Saturday at Wartburg College.
