After a stellar performance at the district meet Saturday afternoon, PCM wrestler Kaden Clark will compete at the state wrestling tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines this week.
Clark won his third-place match over Cruize Flanders of Centerville by fall. After he won that match, Clark made quick work of West Marshall’s Elijiah Meester, winning by fall in just over a minute and a half. Clark is the only Mustang wrestler to qualify for the state tournament this year. Clark says that he didn’t expect to get this far this season, and is pleasantly surprised that he has made it this far.
“I mean, it’s been off and on. I’ve had my moments, made some dumb mistakes. There are some things that, looking back on it, I probably shouldn’t have done. But I feel like I’ve grown every time I go, every time I learn something new.”
