Pella senior Noah Allen crossed a career milestone as the #5 in 3A Dutch used an explosive 3rd quarter to push past Mt. Pleasant Tuesday, in a 73-45 regular season finale heard live on the KRLS3 stream.

Allen has scored 1,000 career points between Newton and Pella, and crossed the threshold shortly following his 100th three-pointer made in his two seasons in the Tulip City.

Pella stayed afloat in the first half after taking an early lead, with the road-team Panthers taking advantage of six Dutch first-half turnovers to remain within arms reach. But a 14-0 burst out of the gates in the first two minutes of the 3rd quarter led to a 29-9 eight-minute stretch that effectively ended the game and allowed Pella to coast to a final win of the regular season.

Allen finished with 13 points in the game — all in the first half, with Preston Rowe and Karl Miller each tallying 15 points in the contest.

The Dutch improve to 15-6 overall following a 3rd place run in the deep Little Hawkeye Conference and open the tournament trail in the substate bracket Monday at home vs. Carlisle.
