untitled-1-5

The #6 in Class 2A Pella Christian boys basketball team begins what they intend to be a long postseason journey as they welcome Central Decatur to Eagle Lane as part of a district doubleheader.

The Eagles (15-6 overall, 4th in the Little Hawkeye Conference) welcome the Cardinals (20-2, 1st in Pride of Iowa Conference) after South Central Conference foes Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Albia lock horns in the opener.

Central Decatur carries an impressive win-loss record, but according to the BCMoore Power Rankings site, it comes against the weakest strength of schedule among Class 2A teams, one of the big reasons why they were chosen as the 4-seed in this bracket.

Regardless, Eagles Head Coach JD Boer knows they need to get a strong start to tonight’s contest if they want to get the ball rolling on a run to the final eight.

The Cardinals are led by Seniors Trey Hullinger (15.5 PPG) and Matthew Boothe (13.1 PPG). Coverage of Pella Christian vs. Central Decatur district tournament basketball begins at approximately 7:30 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
