The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad will try to extend its season Monday, but to do that, the Panthers must play the overall top seed in Sub State seven. Knoxville is the decided underdog and is taking a no pressure outlook to the game. The Panthers also know how good Winterset is as the Huskies were co-champions with Ballard in the Raccoon River Conference. Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Winterset is a lot like Knoxville’s last opponent, Fairfield in the fact that the Huskies will try to extend their two/three zone defense and make you commit careless mistakes.
Pearson: “They extend their 2/3 zone, and Winterset will extend it even farther. They want to pressure you into making a quick shot and a careless turnover, so that’s what we’re going to work on.”
The winner takes on either North Polk of Clarke in the semi-finals on Thursday. Listen to the action on 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:15.
