Phase 2 of the Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project is tentatively expected to begin the week of March 7th, which will include Salem between Howard and 1st Street including the intersection of Salem and Howard, and Howard from Salem to Ashland.
All roads and on-street parking in this area will be closed to traffic and a temporary construction fence will be erected between the sidewalk and streets for pedestrian traffic, with the goal of keeping parking available on Salem between Buxton and Howard, and the construction contractors are looking at possible solutions to accommodate this which would have to include a turnaround. Alternate entrances for the east parking lots behind Regions Bank will be constructed so they will be accessible to the public during this phase.
Absolute Concrete intends to provide the confirmed start date no less than a week before the date. The intention is to provide businesses with at least a weeks’ notice before the project starts and intends to visit every business affected by Phase 2 of the construction project when the start date has been confirmed to answer any questions.
