The Indianola girls basketball team’s season came to a close Tuesday evening, as they fell to the Blue Jays of Bondurant-Farrar 71-36 as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
The Indians could not get into a rhythm offensively as they shot poorly from beyond the arc for the second straight game, and trailed 21-8 after the first and 36-22 at the halftime break. The Bluejays essentially closed the game in the third, outscoring the Indians 21-11 and getting the game to running clock as both teams emptied the benches.
Indians head coach Jeff Janssen said after the game this senior class was the first he worked with since becoming head coach, and all five seniors who played their final games as Indians Tuesday night left their mark on the program and will always be special.
The Indians graduate Lauren Blake, Mara Bishop, Kinzey Johnston, Taylor Powers, and Trysta Hawkins, and end with a 17-5 overall record.
