The Knoxville HIghschool choir season is in full swing. Choir Director Ian Heetland spoke with KNIA/KRLS about upcoming events.
“The chamber singers have a couple of performances. They will go to Clarke of Osceola on March 26 to perform in the state solo and large ensemble contest. In regards to concerts, we only have one left technically on May 10 which is a pop show that features both our chamber singers and the concert choir. The honor choir will perform on March 7 at Central College’s Songfest. Our biggest contest left is our state large group which is May 6 in Grinnell where both the chamber and concert choirs will perform. This will be the first time in a long time the concert choir has performed at state.”
The Choir started the year with 52 students and has grown to 56 with the hope to grow by 10 more students next year.
