The Indianola City Council approved infrastructure improvements on Boston Ave at their meeting Tuesday, using President Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act funds. Interim City Manager Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the city received approximately $2.3 million from the federal program, and working with IMU and city staff identified Boston Ave between D and F Streets, with the council approving the contract and plans for the project after bids were opened several weeks ago. Dissell also said since the funds came from the federal program, there will be no city tax dollars used.
