The first parcel in the new Veterans District of the old VA campus is for sale. Knoxville Economic Development Director Glenn Lyons tells KNIA/KRLS about the parcel.

“This is Block A which is the South Side of Pleasant Street West. It’s about 6.5 acres and we are able to offer it in the marketplace because the services water, electricity, and utilities are all from the property line. We are trying to sell to a builder/developer who could build anything from single-family housing to even apartments. I’m expecting between 20-40 units depending on the housing type.”

Lyons says there are more lots that will be available.

“Later in the year, we will offer other lots for sale for individuals. There’s one block next to the park that we are going to subdivide. It will have 16 lots for individuals who can build their own homes. We will have other blocks we can sell to builder/developers as well.

The Sale price for Block A is $235,000. The individual lots are expected to be available in the fall.
