The Indianola boys track and field team will be the first ones to compete for Indianola this spring, heading to the University of Northern Iowa for the annual Dickinson Relays indoor meet. The Indians girls were scheduled to compete at the event on Monday, which the team did not attend due to weather and school being canceled. The Indians boys bring back several events that competed in the state meet including Carter Erickson who finished in 4th in the class 4A 100m, and 3rd in the 200m, as well as Curtis Johnson who placed 11th in the 1600m. Head coach Matt Oliver tells KNIA Sports the Indians are ready to defend their Little Hawkeye Conference title, and bring back a lot of talent and lots of young athletes who are ready to step up.
