It was a total rebuild for the Melcher-Dallas Boys Basketball Squad this season. The Saints only had one player on the entire roster that had any varsity experience from last season. Throw in a new coach and the Saints slow start was likely not a surprise. Coach John Suntken tells KNIA Sports his team got better each day and after this season, he says expectations will be higher next season…
Suntken: “But as long as we improved and got better and executed this season then I’ll take it. Should we have won more games, of course, but as long as they have the effort and get better then as a coach that’s all you can ask for.”
Suntken says the fundamentals are going to be an offseason emphasis and getting stronger physically and mentally. Melcher-Dallas finished with a 4-17 record this year.
