The winter “hibernation’ the Pella Historical Society and Museums will end as the Historical Village reopens on March 21st.

Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten looks forward to welcoming guests as the tulips start to bloom and springtime starts in Pella, and they will have a few new exhibits to enjoy.

“One is about Dutch stereotypes; are the Dutch stingy? Are they really that tall? It’s a really fun exhibit,” she says. ” The other exhibit is one we were gifted, which was a set of watercolor prints of an artist who documented the hunger winter of 1944-45, and it’s a set of 18 prints that we’ve had framed and matted, and we’ve translated the tags on them, but it’s a look at a time in Dutch history that was very difficult.”
