One athlete that the Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad will have this season is a healthy Norah Pearson. Pearson missed her sophomore season last spring due to a knee injury which also caused her to miss most of her cross country season this past fall. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports a healthy Pearson will be crucial in the distance races.
Splavec: “Great soccer player and a great athlete and a really fun kid to talk to to see where her head is at. Coach Mikayla Splavec is getting her ready for those 800s, and 1500s so it’ll be exciting to see what she can do.”
The track coaches will have to share Pearson with soccer this season as she is also going to be one of several Knoxville athletes to double up in soccer and track and field. Knoxville’s track season gets underway on Tuesday with an outdoor meet at Simpson College.
