The Melcher-Dallas Fire Department will be holding a fundraising breakfast today. EMS Director Laurie Goff spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the event.
“We are having a free-will donation breakfast till 1 pm or until the food runs out. The proceeds will go towards new gear, as per NFT requirements, each firefighter needs new gear every 10 years, and we have some gear that is coming up on the 10-year mark, so we are trying to raise funds for purchasing new gear that can be pricey.”
Goff explains that it’s not just Melcher-Dallas that benefits from the proceeds of the breakfast, and that people from all over the county and beyond are welcome
“We pretty much have working relationships with all the other Departments in the County so this not only benefits Melcher-Dallas but it benefits the community for us to have the right equipment cause you never know when we may need to help our neighbors.”
The breakfast is dine-in or carry out.
