Norwalk’s girls’ golf squad will be looking to make an impact with a senior-heavy squad and a desire to finish towards the top of the Little Hawkeye Conference.

The Warriors will have nine seniors on their roster this season, including three returning from last season. Norwalk will be bringing back Emily Juergens, Nikko Higgins, and Emma Tomlinson from the previous season. Juergens had the second-lowest eight-hole average on the team with a 50, behind graduating senior Lauren Davis. Higgins averaged finishing just two strokes higher than Juergens in 2021. Coach Steve Wermerskirchen tells KNIA Sports that his focus is going to be on his team gaining experience.

“We have a lot of kids that haven’t played in meets before. I think we will see a progression of kids getting better as the year goes on because they will gain more experience from meet to meet.”

The season for Norwalk gets underway with their home invitational April 2nd.
