The Indianola City Council approved the FY2023 budget at their meeting Monday, setting city priorities for the next fiscal year. Interim City Manager Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the budget includes Local Option Sales Tax funds, Road Use Tax funds, additional Community Development Staff, 24-hour police dispatch, finishing city capital projects, and two new Streets Department employees. Dissell also said the city Property Tax Levy will go down by 8 cents, which will be $13.55 per $1,000 of valuation. The new budget will go into effect July 1st.
