Former Knoxville Girls Tennis Standout Alex Griggs is finishing up career at Central College this spring. Griggs has not only played tennis for the Dutch but has also been on the ground floor of starting the triathlon program. Griggs tells KNIA/KRLS Sports her greatest moment at Central may be right now as she is playing both singles and doubles and having success at both.
Griggs: “I would say I’m in the middle of it right now, and playing well, winning matches. It’s been really helpful and I’m now doing both doubles and singles so it’s really awesome right now.”
She is 1-2 in singles for the spring season but 4-1 in doubles with partner Jenna Hernandez. Griggs’s career record in singles is 8-8 while her doubles record stands at 19-10. Griggs adds she will be graduating early and likely will not take her COVID option for another year. You can hear a complete interview with Griggs on this week’s Radio Sports Page Wednesday at 6:00 and Thursday at 10:00.
