Tulip blooming season is drawing near in Pella. City of Pella Community Services Director Jeanette Vaughan says the parks department and other volunteers combined to plant more than 130,000 bulbs this past fall, with several new and returning features in city parks and along street beds.
Vaughan says a bloom status map has been posted to help visitors find the best blooms, and the department is also bringing back their Coffee Time with Tulips segment on the Pella Community Services Facebook page.
Pella Historical Society Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten says between the Historical Village and Scholte Gardens, another 95,000 bulbs have been planted by their staff and volunteers and will soon be ready for viewing.
