The Indianola and Knoxville girls soccer teams will face off at Indianola stadium Monday to begin their 2022 campaigns, battling in non-conference action.
The Knoxville squad has high hopes after going undefeated in South Central Conference action last year, and bring back a host of talent including leading scorer senior Taylor Jones with 13 last season, joined alongside junior Hanna Linsley who had 10 goals, with the Panthers also bringing back top keeper senior Abby Wadle who had 103 saves for the 8-7 squad.
The Indians are under new head coach Erin Ebling, and are facing a minor program reset after losing their top two goal scorers and top keepers to graduation from last year, after going 9-8 last year and finishing fourth in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Action starts at 5:30pm, with the JV contest to follow.
