The Knoxville Public Library will hold the first book signing of “My Name is Dixie: Designer of the Iowa Flag,” by author T. Waldman-Williams Tuesday, March 29 from 3 pm-5 pm. The event will include a welcome from Waldman-Williams, and a presentation from Marla Suter, State Regent of the Iowa Society of the Daughters of American Revolution to the great grandnieces of Dixie Gebhardt, the designer of the official Iowa flag. Knoxville Middle School students Mckale Clark, Avery Beal, and Elly Arkema, who are finalists in the Iowa flag contest, will read their essays.  Copies of “My Name is Dixie” will be available to purchase.
