A former Otley resident was arrested at his previous residence for several charges.
Tanner William Ware, 27, faces three counts of violating the sex offender registry and 3rd degree burglary, all Class D Felonies, among other charges.
According to court records, Ware had allegedly moved to a new residence in Des Moines in January. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office had no record of the move — Ware was supposed to inform them of any change in residency as part of his status on the Sex Offender Registry for a 2013 conviction of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse for a victim 14-17 years old when Ware was 18.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a possible burglary in process, where they found Ware attempting to pick a lock in his old home in Otley. Ware claimed to officers he was back to request money from his parents. Deputies say they found a firearm reported stolen in a previous burglary in which he had a warrant issued last week.
