Despite several rounds of precipitation last month, some areas locally remain a bit behind in terms of moisture, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report.
The area mainly north and east of Lake Red Rock remains in what is now classified as a long-term deficit and abnormally dry. Overall, most of the state showed improvement after light snow and periodic rain showers and thunderstorms continued to move through in late March.
Additional chances for precipitation remain in the forecast to start April, according to the National Weather Service.
