The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in a special session Monday. The board approved the appointment of Deputy County Recorder Naomi Ellis as the new County recorder replacing Karen Schwanebeck who has retired.
Ellis spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about how her experience working in the Recorder’s office will help her transition into the position.
“I’ve been in the office for 13 and a half years, actually 14 this July. I have been the Deputy Recorder for two years and that experience will help me run the office. I look forward to serving the residents of Marion County as the County Recorder.”
Ellis was sworn into the office Monday afternoon. The Recorder position is on the Ballot for the June Elections and Ellis is the only candidate for the position.
