The Pella City Council is holding a public hearing to approve a contract for reconstruction of University Street and East 8th north of Caldwell Park this evening. If approved, work would begin immediately after Tulip Time to rebuild the stretch of road and complete the intersection before classes resume in the fall. An engineer’s estimate for the project is $920,000, with total completion scheduled in mid-October.
The council will also hold a public hearing for the furnishing 15 kV medium voltage power cable, resolutions for special event permits related to Tulip Time and the Pella Farmer’s Market, consider a conditional resolution of support for the transfer of Pella Community Ambulance assets to the City of Pella, review a preliminary plat for the Dingeman expansion at West 12th Street, and schedule a public hearing to award a contract for a fuel oil storage tank enclosure at the Diesel Power Plant to make it available for year-round use.
The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6:00 this evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex, and is also available with audio online: https://join.me/CityofPella
