Work on Phase 2 of the Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project continued this week. The newly installed water mains passed the pressure and bacteria tests, and several businesses on the south side of Salem Ave have already been connected to the new water services, with buildings on the north side of Salem being connected soon.

Street removal on Howard St. on the square has begun, with underground utilities being installed next week, and a possible installation of the storm sewer on Salem Ave if the fiber duct bank from CenturyLink has not yet been removed.

Work on the installation of Phase 1 new light poles that remain on day and night located in Phase 1 will be worked on by the provider, and the current street poles on Howard will be de-energized and removed.
